Straight out of our shared bathroom….

I have always grown up being quite aware of my oral health and taken good care of my teeth. I’ve not
ever had a filling and would like it to stay that way. I am not actually a big fan of using mouth wash. I
find them too strong and overpowering, and this one is no exception. This product is actually one of
the strongest in terms of flavour I have ever used, however I use it becaues the benefits far out weigh
the pungent flavour.

With 6 big benefits in one including – killing germs, reducing plaque, freshening breath, protects
gums, prevents tartar build up and strengthens teeth. It is hard to say no and I cannot deny my mouth needs this and since I am now well beyond the 21st Day Challenge from when I first began using this
product, I can safely say my mouth looks, feels and smells a lot more clean and healthy.

About a month ago I took my 4 and 2 yr old for their very first dental check up and also booked
myself in for a check and clean since I hadn’t been in more than 5 years! Happy to report all is good
and I am still cavity free! Yay!

I feel like I have been using this classic Nivea Cream since I started using skincare products. I am
pretty sure the first time I used this product I was actually ‘borrowing’ it from my sister! This product
is the perfect all rounder must have for every person, male and female! It comes in a variety of sizes,
so you can have a larger size at home for daily use as well as smaller travel and purse size options
available. At the moment I just have this cute little sample pot which I received after applying for a

The cream is thick and white and is great for dry and sensitive skin. Even safe enough to use on
children and babies skin which has been great over the past 5 years with my two rascals.
Can be used all over the body as both a facial and/or body cream.
Currently on special at Priceline for $6.64 (200ml)

I have been using this for a few months now and love that it is unisex and my hubby can also enjoy it!
The clear glass bottle is so simplistic and minimal and matches any space I store it. The scent is very
gender neutral, appealing to both men and women. I usually go for the sweet, floral and girlie scents,
however this isn’t any of those things yet doesn’t smell at all masculine either. This is a really fresh
and clean scent that doesn’t over power your nose. I have found the fragrance to last throughout the
day and can smell it lingering on my skin if I smell my arm. πŸ™‚ This would make a great gift for those
who have everything or are difficult to buy for as it would suit just about everyone!

Contains top notes of wasabi, mandarin & violet leaf. Middles notes of wet cobblestones, concrete
accords, orris root & rose absolute and base notes of vetiver, sandalwood & incense.

There has just been something in the air lately that has been attracting me to products from New
Zealand, (see my NZ skincare routine here!) and this being one of them! My husband visited NZ
for a few months before we met and has always raved about how beautiful a place it is, so I wasn’t
surprised to find the Primal Earth range of men’s products on his side of the bathroom.

Being a naturally curious beauty nut who will try just about anything I had to see if it was any good,
as I usually do with any new product I see in the bathroom. I am gonna try it – mine or not! haha!

This moisturiser is thick and white and contains an SPF 15 which you can’t even tell is there when
you apply it. There is no greasy feel or sunscreen type smell. The smell is actually very natural and
uplifting. I really like this one!! Contains Aloe Vera, Green Tea & Harakeke.
Available to purchase from Woolworths.

This product actually comes in a set with the Colgate Optic White toothbrush but I have to say I
only bought it mainly for the whitening pen! I have a bit of an obsession with whitening my teeth
as a frequent coffee drinker (more for the buzz and to stay awake and alert than the taste) my teeth
have suffered for it and definitely have had whiter, brighter days!

The pen is so easy to use, you just twist the bottom around until it clicks a few time and you will see
the product begin to ooze out the top. Apply this to your teeth and you’re good to go! I have been
applying this right before I go to bed so my tongue doesn’t get busy wondering around my mouth and
removing the product. I want it to work with maximum results so I let it sit overnight. I started to see
results after about a week and have kept on using it!

With all of the hype around this product recently of course I had to give it a go to see for myself
what all the fuss was about. Funnily enough my husband already had and uses this product so it
was easy for me to ‘borrow’ it!

For women it is said this product makes for a killer makeup primer. I have tried quite a number of
different primers and have found pros and cons in each of them, however never actually finding a
holy grail I would keep on re-purchasing. So I have been buying and trying out new ones all the time.

This product does have a bit of an aroma to it. It is quite pleasant though and not as strong as you
might expect a men’s facial product to be. Usually they seem to have a much stronger scent then
women’s products in my opinion. After applying the skin feels smooth and dry surprisingly and
immediately ready for makeup which stays matte and shine free throughout the day! Gotta love that!

Do you use any of the above products?
Are there any you would been keen to try?

Previous – July / August / September / October / November / December / January / February

~ MARCH! ~

So obviously time is flying by too fast for me to keep up to these days so I am combining two months
together as March especially was AGES ago! Plus it is almost the end of yet another month so a new
month of empties is again due for reflection and review.
Being at home 24/7 with my two toddlers plus being co-owner of our own business I help run with
my husband, free time to relax and blog/vlog and do my own thing is rare. However I am doing the
best I can with the time I have. Being busy sure does make the time FLY! I have come to realise this
so much more over the past almost five years since becoming a mother. Seems like everyday second
of everyday is go, go, GO! Frankly I need a break and time to breathe…
Come early August we are packing up our place we have lived in here in Brisbane over the past six
years and are moving on to live closer to my husbands family about an hour and a half away to a
more quiet neighbourhood.  I am really looking forward to a fresh start in a new place, having some
extra family around and with Imbi starting big school next year (which I am completely freaking out
and excited about) it should be nice to have some of my day partially calmed down and can focus on
just one kid at home which might let me relax a little. Maybe…
Anyway mini life update over, let get onto the fun stuff!
Peony Scented Bubble Bath
Back in January I received my $5 birthday voucher from Priceline in the mail and this is what I
spent it on. πŸ™‚ Mainly for the kids bubble baths, they loved it. Had a gorgeous scent and made great
white, fluffy bubbles!
Organic Care Lemongrass & Ginger Hand Wash (Review!)
Picked this one up again a few Beautorium’s ago. Why? Because it is amazing and great value!
Not to mention my whole family uses it and enjoys it.
Hello Kitty Shower Gel
Received this in a gift pack with matching perfume. So super cute and made great bubbles in the
Lanolips Golden Ointment
If you have really and I mean REALLY dry skin then this product is a must for you! So rich and thick
the lotion just soaks in and softens the skin instantly!! Honestly the best, most effective dry skin
treatment I have ever come across!
Papulex Oil-Free Cream
This was a nice light weight facial cream. My skin didn’t irritate or break out whilst I used it. So I
think the fact it is designed for acne prone skin worked because my skin does tent to break out
when I don’t use products targeted to my skin type.
Frangipani Body Lotion
This smelt amazing. Nothing else too special about it though. Just your average body lotion from a
gift pack I was given for Christmas.
NeoStrata Skin Active w/SPF (Sample)
This sample was good. I got two uses out of it. I would use it again.
Sukin Facial Treatment Oil (Review!)
This is so hydrating and healing. I love it for my acne scaring and it just feels so so good!
Pumpkin Seed Organic Facial Serum (Review!)
This was such an interesting product to me. Simply sure pumpkin seed oil. That’s it! The only
ingredient. I had no idea how lovely a product is actually is. Found in my Pearlesque monthly
subscription box reviewed here.
Eminence Naseberry Treatment Cream
I used a dab of this whenever I eyed a cheeky spot coming on and bam, it just cleared it up and
helped the already nasty ones heal up. My skin is so good right now! Hope I can live without this
now it’s empty! I do have a bunch of other acne related products I have to replace this with though
so I should be good.
Sealicious Cuticle & Nail Oil
This tiny little bottle was in my Doll Connection goody bag and this was my first time using the
brand’s products. Really nice, I liked it! Made my cuticles nice and soft and I believe my nails are
stronger and longer now because of it.
Sealicious Hand & Foot Mask
Used this sample up in one go! Lathered up my tootsies and let it set. I don’t think I had ever used a
foot mask prior to this, so it was oh so nice to treat my tried aching feet!
~  HAIR!  ~
VO5 Silky Mist Miracle Mist
I used this on both mine and my daughters hair and it actually did an amazing job at detangling the
hair and giving it a lovely shine. Sadly, I don’t think this product is still available to purchase.
L’Oreal Paris Perfect Blonde Cream
This conditioner came in my hair dye box which I forgot to keep for photographing for this empties
post. However it is the same boxed hair dye I used to use way back in my early 20’s when I first
bleached my hair. It stripes the hair of any colour so the base is ready for colouring. It does a hell of
a great job at lightening the hair in one go!
Schick Intuition Pure Nourishment Razor Refil (Review!)
Here it is again. I go through these all the time. Cannot recommend this razor enough! The moisture
strip saves me every time. I just love it!

Avon Cashmere Finish Foundation
This wore more like a tinted moisturiser in my opinion. Very light coverage. Would not particuarly
recommend it.
Revitanail Clear Base Coat
Brilliant! Love it, dries fast and up there with the best.
Napoleon Perdis Lip Gloss in Acapulco Pink
Pretty light barbie pink shade. Love it, it’s my go-to lip colour! Always!
Catwalk Purple Eyeshadow
Had this for far too long and glad to see it go. Much prefer eyeshadow palettes over singles to be
honest. Much less fiddly and easy and faster to get the job done. The shade and quality was good
though. Had a nice subtle shimmer through it.
Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in #10 Pink Frosting
This was a gorgeous shade and this pot lasted me AGES! I would purchase this again, though I
might go for another colour to try something new.
Nars Optimal Brightening Concentrate (Sample)
Hard to have much of an opinion after just one use. Didn’t irritate and did not leave any kind of
residue. Was able to apply my normal facial moisturiser over the top straight away.
Not so many this month. Just a few large bottles which I have to say I am still pretty proud of since
they are so large. Every one is a little win. πŸ™‚

~ HAIR! ~
Tresemme’ Split Remedy Shampoo
I have been using this shampoo/conditioner combo for years and have reviewed them here.
Does a good job at curbing those pesky split ends. Smells really nice and lathers up like a treat
with every wash.
John Freida Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Conditioner
With my DIY hair lightening comes DIY tone correcting! At the moment my hair is leaning toward
the gawd awful orange side and I just ain’t got time for that! So purple & silver shampoos &
conditioners have been my best friends at every single wash!
Scunci Hair & Body Art Tattoos
We’ve all heard about body tatts, but with hair tattoos being the new thing to do, it was a fun
experience to try these out and if you are interested, you can watch my video tutorial on these here.
~  BODY!  ~
Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Heavenly Lotion
This lotion is gorgeous! A gift from my husband a few years back which I have been savouring.
However it was most likely past it’s due date so had to be used up asap!
Coast To Coast Lightweight Moisture Lotion
Another beautiful product. I have reviewed the whole Coastal range here. Lovely and light on the
skin. The fragrance is light and is so hydrating and soothing at the same time.
Puretopia Sensitive Care Protective Moisturiser
Coming into Winter, my skin is becoming dryer, hence why I am probably going through a few more
facial creams than usual. I don’t have sensitive skin by any means, but I still really liked this.
Stopped the dry feeling and sensation on my skin and soaked in fast!
~ Sample! ~
Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner
I wanted to love this, really I did. Props to Benefit for being innovative, however this product was just
a big fail for me. Maybe it was just the sample packaging and the full size is much easier to use?
Please let me know, because this was pretty much impossible to use and dried out pretty much
straight away.

How are you going with your empties so far this year?

Gift With – (Out?) Purchase!

Join in on the discussion over on Youtube! πŸ™‚

So, here is the story… basically I explain it all in my un-bagging video above however I will also give you a bit of a run down here.  So you are probably wondering
why I have titled this as a ‘Gift With – (Out?) Purchase!’ ?? Well let me explain. It is all
innocent I swear!

So nearing toward the end or it may have actually been the very last day of this promotion
in store. My husband, kids and I were out on the weekend getting some groceries and a
few other odds and ends around our local little shopping centre, and as you do when you
just want to get home late on a Sunday arvo with the kids beginning to get tired and
cranky we decided to split up. My son (2yrs) and I went to Coles and the hubby and my
daughter (4yrs) went to Priceline for totally unrelated fun makeup things!

So basically my husband saw the gift bag sitting on the shelf, had a look at it and decided
on impulse to surprise me with it. Then had second thoughts and wanted me to be able to
come in and pick out the products I wanted just in case he picked some things I already
had or didn’t like. So after speaking to the lady in the store, she explained it was their last
bag and that he could just take it as they were about to close and were apparently just
trying to get rid of it! 0_o

Yippeeeee! Thank you lady from Priceline! You just made one very tired and worn out
mummy very, very happy!! πŸ™‚

Each year the gift bags that Priceline offer differ slightly. You can check out last year’s makeup gift
with purchase bag here. This years bag is about the same size as last years and like last years bag, it
is a lovely girlie pink colour with roses and a gold zip. I really like it, however last years still remains
my favourite thus far.

Ultimate Miracle Worker
Skincare Range!

Ultimate Miracle Worker Day Cream
I had heard about philosophy as a brand and their products quite a bit over the past few years and as a beauty blogger have read a lot of reviews and heard a lot of positive thoughts and opinions about their products. However never got around to trying them as I usually just stick to the cheaper brands within my strict budget. However since having the opportunity to test out the new Ultimate Miracle Worker skincare range over the past 3 weeks with Beautyheaven I can see why these products have a premium price tag! The quality, results and luxury elegance of each specially formulated jar is extremely rich and worth every single application!
The day cream which contains an SPF 15 is gorgeously scented lightly with only the tiniest hint of an SPF related smell. It is white in appearance and medium thick. I found the multi-rejuvenating cream easy to quickly work into my skin each morning before applying makeup a minute or two after. This absorbs right in and doesn’t leave my skin feeling as though the product is just sitting on the surface. It gives more of a softer feeling and healthy fresh, youthful glow.
The 60ml silver glass jar has a black screw top lid which is easy to open and closes securely. I have found the product has remained fresh and unchanged in colour or appearance and consistency over the trial period with the scent remaining the same.
In terms of seeing results of firmer skin, reduced pore size, more hydrated skin and fewer wrinkles. I can say my ‘normal’ skin does seem to be firmer and definitely more hydrated. I can feel a difference in the softness around my cheeks and neck. Overall my skin is looking and behaving amazing well since the beginning of using this product with zero pimples and blackheads which usually pop up every now and again on my skin. So I am thinking my pores may be slightly reduced in size aiding in the zero acne issue! I am 32 and don’t have many winkles thankfully. Just a few small crows feet on the corner of my eyes. These seem to be reduced quite a bit as I have been using this product in conjunction with the Ultimate Miracle Worker Eye. (RRP $88.00)
Overall would highly recommend this product, brand and product range. It has worked for me!

Ultimate Miracle Worker Eye
Using philosophy’s Ultimate Miracle Worker Eye along with the Ultimate Miracle Worker Day with SPF and Worker Night from the same range I have come to really enjoy and appreciate the results of using an eye cream in my skincare routine again as I have not done this is quite some time!
This 15ml round silver glass jar appears as a mini version of it’s big sister the Ultimate Miracle Worker Day Cream. The cream however has a slightly more of an off white, cream tint to it that the whiter Day Cream. This has all you could ask for in a eye cream. From patented Bi-Retinol and Iris plant extracts to rejuvenate the skin on the surface. To the classic Caffeine and Vitamin C to aid in the skin’s puffiness and dark circles under the eyes.
The cream is much the same consistency as the day cream being medium thick and absorbing in the same amount of time. (1-2 minutes max!)
Luckily my eyes only have a few little crows feet and don’t often get puffy unless I wake up in the morning after only a few hours sleep which does happen from time to time with 2 toddlers. I don’t have any dark circles so cannot comment on the effectiveness in that respect from this product. However my fine lines and overall eye area does appear much more as it did in my more youthful 20’s. My fine lines are reduced so I am hopeful with continued future consistent use and sensible sun exposure my crows feet may become a distant memory. One can hope! πŸ™‚
Overall I am very happy with this product. As with only needing the tiniest amount (l only needed HALF a pea size amount) per application I feel like this product is going to last me quite some time and in that regard in conjunction with seeing some pretty amazing results since the beginning of use three weeks ago, I can see how this warrants the scary price tag! (RRP $75.00)

Ultimate Miracle Worker Night
Using this product along with the other’s from the Ultimate Miracle Worker skincare range has been a lot of fun for me especially when it came to initially trying this Worker Night for the first time! philosophy have well thought out this product. Giving us a stronger unique night cream by combining the benefits of a rich night cream along with the anti ageing properties a facial serum gives.
To blend these two together philosophy gets us as consumers involved in the final process. In the box you find not only your 50ml black glass jar, additionally you will find a 10ml sealed packet of baby pink wet peals ready to be mixed in together with the small black spatula provided. This was one of my most favourite steps within the process of using this product.
Once mixed together the two ingredients blend together to form one power punching night cream! The pearls dissolve quite quickly and once done you can rest assured you are applying a fresh a batch of night cream as you’ll ever get!
The scent of this is only light and is almost identically smelling as the Ultimate Miracle Day and Eye creams. I was surprised to find unlike most night creams I have ever used, the consistency within this jar was nowhere as thick as I was expecting as I am so used to night creams being thick. However this was more runny, even more so than the Day and Eye cream from this range. I don’t believe this had anything negative to do with the formulation though as I have actually had amazing results using this whole trio of products.
I found this cream to absorb into my skin even more rapidly than the day and eye cream and felt the same soft, moisturised feeling left upon my skin. My skin is firmer, particularly round my eyes, neck and cheeks. Being in my early 30’s I know my youthful appearance is only going to last so long and the clock is ticking loud and fast! Since seeing such satisfying and rapid results with these products I can’t see myself turing back now and will continue to use these products to help maintain and improve my skin even further. (RRP $110.00)

~  Rimmel London  ~
Magnif’Eyes Shadow & Liner Pens!

I have recently been testing out two of these gorgeous shimmery brand new double ended eye shadow
liners from Rimmel London in the shades ‘Back To Blacks’ & “Queens Of The Bronzed Age’
and I have been completely digging the easy to wear combo!
I have mainly been using the lighter shade of  the bronzy brown all over my lid and lightly on my
brow bone and then blending in the darker brown shade into my crease. These are so easy to blend
that I have just been using my finger which I find with these in particular works much better than
using a shadow brush as I normally would with any other eye shadow product, however since
these are cream shadows and not powder this technique is easiest, quickest and I have found most

Whilst the formula itself is quite soft, but they do blend beautifully together and these two which I have in particular look great together for both everyday wear as well as night when a bolder line is drawn and then smudged for a smokey effect. The duel end means one end is pointier than the other which makes for an easy thin or bold line.

The shades do have some shimmer in them which transfer onto the skin in a really pretty way without looking like too much glitter dust! I found they lasted for a good full day without creasing or fading.

These new Rimmel London Magnif’Eyes Double Ended Eyeshadow Pens also come in shades
“Kissed By A Rose Gold” & “Dark Side Of Blue” and can be purchased from Priceline, Coles,
K-Mart, Big W and Target as well as selected pharmacies here in Australia for current RRP $16.95ea.

Have you tried these shadow pens?

Match Perfection Fix And Protect

I have been recently testing out this new foundation in both shades Ivory 100 & White Nude 102.
Both very similar in terms of shade and both seem to suit my light slightly pale skin. The Ivory is
slightly lighter and appears a little grey upon application, however soon seems to change once
settled onto my skin and turns into a more natural looking shade close to my own skin colour.

The White Nude is a shade or two darker, but still suitable for light skin tones and has more of a
orange/yellow undertone about it. This too seems like a slightly different shade when first applied,
however soon settles and changes to give me a natural slightly sun kissed glow. I found this foundation to give about a medium to full coverage on my skin. Was fairly impressed by this
as you will see more clearly in my video below.

These foundations are a pretty amazing combination whilst keeping the skin matte throughout the
day and keeping the natural oily t-zone under control, this product you may be surprised to know
contains an SPF 20! I am pretty sure this is the first foundation I have come across to contain SPF and
still keep my skin matte throughout the day!

Recently I put this foundation to the test and documented how it went on my skin throughout the day
used in conjunction with the Rimmel London Fix & Protect Primer. Take a look as I check in with my camera throughout the day and find out my thoughts on the end result.

Don’t forget to subscribe, thumbs up & leave me a comment!

As with another Rimmel London primer I have used previously, with this product a little goes a long way and you really need to be careful not to apply too much or your face will become overly white and the product difficult to blend in. I found a small amount to do just fine and worked to create a smoother, less oily surface on my skin as a good base for my makeup.

The formula is white and quite a bit runny, similar to that of a sunscreen consistency without the smell! The scent is actually much more fragrant with a light floral scent to it which quickly disappears after application.

I found this primer kept my foundation firmly in place throughout the day and my skin hardly got oily at all after around 10 hours. I noticed a positive result as I am usually much more oily by the end of the day especially when wearing makeup.

I would still apply a powder over the top of this primer and foundation combo, however for the purpose of my first impressions video I skipped this step to see how it found fair without it.

Overall a good base for foundation. Not overly blurring or skin perfecting, but pretty good at keep the skin matte and holding the makeup in place for a good full day!

These and other Rimmel London makeup products can be purchased from Priceline, Coles, K-Mart,
Woolworths, Big W, Target & other selected pharmacies around Australia.
Match Perfection Foundation RRP $18.95
Fix & Protect Primer RRP $13.95

I usually tend to think of months with some kind of theme. With December being all about
Christmas and January the new year & my birthday. February all me thinking all about hearts,
red roses, romantic dinners and of course LOVE! πŸ™‚
So let’s see how many empties I managed to work my way through in this romantic month!
Let’s make it easy and go from the largest packaging to the smallest…
Schick Intuition Pure Nourishment Razor w/ Coconut Milk & Almond Oil
I have said it before and I’ll keep on saying it, this is the best razor out there in my opinion!
I have tried a gazillion different kinds and this is by far the most unique and kindest to my skin
which is prone to itching after shaving. I love that I can use this without having to dig around to
find shaving gel too! (Review!)
TRESemme’ Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment
Pretty nice stuff. Has taken my ages to finally get through it. But that can be a good thing!
Would buy again once I am through with all the others I have to use first. πŸ™‚ (Review!)
Avon Naturals Milk & Honey Nourishing Body Lotion
You know how I love my body lotions and lather them all over my body on a daily basis. Well this
one was in one of my most favourite scents – Milk & Honey! I LOVE it! The scent wasn’t overly
powerful though, which in this case I would have preferred. Some products need to tone down their
overpowering scents, but this kind of scent can never get too much for me. It is just so delicious!
Bioderma Atoderm PO Zinc Intense Hydration
I have mentioned this product previously in another article here where I talk about the benefits this
product can have if you suffer from super dry skin. My skin isn’t prone to dryness, however this was
still nice to use. It came in my Blogstar prize pack a few years ago, so it needed to be finished up, so I
just used it anyway. Did a good job, I enjoyed it especially on my feet which do get the driest.
Coast To Coast Ultra Gentle Facial Polish w/ Wild Rosella & Oatmeal
I would classify this as quite a gentle exfoliant. Great for sensitive skin types. My skin is normal and
prone to breaking out every now and then and I was actually surprised at how well it kept the pesky
spots at bay. Lasted me ages and every now and then I would also use it to give my legs and feet a
gentle scrub. (Review!)
Dettol Soft On Skin Hand Wash in Vanilla & Coconut
Such an awesome household staple to have all over the house, especially with little ones running
around. I love these because this refill is used in an automatic battery operated dispenser which means
the no touch sensor senses when you hand is placed under it and squirts out just the right amount of
soap per wash, leaving little room for germs to spread! Also smells SO YUM!
Paleo Skincare Spearmint Tallow Bodywash
Received this sample in my recent Native Box which I have reviewed here. Make sure you check
that out for a mini demo so you can see how it works! πŸ™‚
This brand is new to me and I did enjoy using this. The scent was nice and not too ott. It lathered up
pretty well and made me feel refreshed and smelling minty for the day!
Avon Shine On Shimmering Lip Gloss is Frost
I am sure that I am not the only one trying to down size their lip gloss/balm stash?
How do so many accumulate so quickly? I must have about 50 and have no clue how I am going to
get through them all in this life time, but hey I can try! Recently threw away a heap which felt so
relieving! Anyway – The gloss is so cute and shimmery, I really actually enjoyed it. Occasionally
doubled up using a tiny bit as a bit of a cheek high lighter.
Lancome Juicy Lip Gloss
Unfortunately this gloss seemed to separate in the tube. πŸ™ Half of the product was a beautiful grape
shade with a hint of shimmer throughout and the other was just clear, sticky goo. Was not impressed
considering this is probably one of the most expensive lip glosses I have ever invested in. I expect
more from such a higher ended brand.
And we’re done! How are you going with your empties so far for 2016?

Medium Matte Review!

Recently I reviewed as similar new product also by Rimmel London which you can read all about here. This particular product however has been a great addition to my at home self tanning routine which I haven’t seemed to be able to stop doing since the beginning of Summer. This has been a bit of a bronzed obsessed holiday period for me and I have enjoyed every second of it!
One of my favourite things about the ever changing, growing and evolving products and innovations from the beauty industry is their ability to come up with product for not just one single purpose but several and in this case an impressive nine.
1. Softens Skin
2. Smooths Skin
3. Moisturises
4. Instant Tanning Results
5. Gives A Healthy Glow
6. Evens Skin Tone
7. Covers Skin
8. Protects Skin
9. Lasts Up To 24 Hours

This BB β€˜wash off’ formula means I can experiment with as many layers of products as I want to determine the shade I am feeling that particular day and if it turns out too dark or not looking right I can just wash it right off and start over again instantly! No waiting around for days or up to a week for a dodgy tan application to fade here. Too often I find I haven’t exfoliated my skin enough and my fake tan can look much darker and a bit dirty on my knees and around certain areas on the tops of my feet. Definitely NOT a good look!
At just $13.95 this Sun Shimmer Instant Tan has barely any shimmer actually in it, yet it gives your skin a certain glow and the slimming illusion of the deep chocolate matte shade does a super job on my otherwise naturally not at all very toned thighs.

Available in both Medium Matte & Light Matte! (Shop Now!)

Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse
If you have been watching my recent Youtube videos lately then you probably would have heard me
banging on about how much I have been DIY self tanning at home lately. Well here is one of the main
products I have been using in my daily tanning routine. Rimmel London’s Sun Shimmer Self Tan
Mousse is available in your choice of ‘Light Matte’, ‘Medium Matte’ or ‘Dark Matte.’ I have been
using the Dark Matte shade and initially I was thinking it was going to be WAY too dark for my super
light skin, as usually I will either tan gradually or stick to the light tanning shades so not to over do it.
However this ‘Dark Matte’ shade wasn’t OOT at all and looked super natural on the skin. No orange
tinge to it AT ALL, it is beautifully chocolaty brown and looks flawless!
This 150ml pump style bottle to so easy to use and as you can see from the image above, this is the
amount of product you get with just one pump which was enough for me to apply one coat to my
whole leg top to bottom. Honestly though once I first applied it which dried in just a few seconds
I thought it really wasn’t giving me enough colour so I applied an extra coat to see how it would
develop within the recommended hour. Once the hour was up the formula had darkened only slightly
on my skin so was still looking very natural.
After 3 weeks of application each day my tan quickly built up into a sun kissed glow and not too dark
that I was unrecognisable! It lasts up to 7 days so after over month of using this it has maintained an
all over even shade as I have been exfoliating every few days in-between which washes some of the
colour off each time.
Overall I would really recommend this self tanning mousse to both beginners and long time users of
DIY self tans as it is not only a great price, the mildly scented moisturising, light foam is up there in
terms of a budget friendly product. The quality is as good as the more expensive brands in my
opinion and experience.
Available NOW at Priceline & other selected stores for only $16.95

Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara

I own a few other Max Factor makeup items in my collection and I have always wondered why I
don’t hear as much of this brand as some others. I feel like Max Factor deserves a bit more
recognition as their products are amazing!
I have really enjoyed incorporating this mascara into my everyday makeup routine along with others from the brand. Together they work well and I love the end result.
The sleek and posh black & gold tube is very classy and grown up looking as opposed to some other brightly coloured ones on the market. This makes me feel good to use for a change. I like the feeling!
The wand is easy to use and hold in my hand. I can apply steadily and coat every single lash, even those almost invisible ones on the inner corner on both the top & bottom.
My lashes are nothing to brag about so I loved having them given a nice amount of extra length and volume to make me appear more awake, alive and with the illusion of slightly bigger eyes. YAS!! πŸ˜€ (I have always envied Ashley Olsen’s doll like beautiful big eyes!) My eyes don’t look quite THAT amazing, but using this mascara has definitely helped!
No overpowering scent or anything which I like when it comes to mascaras because then I definitely know when they need to hit the bin as soon as I begin to feel that waft of product creep up my nose!

Overall, this mascara has been great and I have been using it everyday. For night to add a little more drama, I found applying a few extra coats made a bigger difference in making them appear to have that slight ‘False Lash Effect’.
I would recommend for both day & night for those who want a more grown up, classy looking mascara that is versatile in giving you a range of looks from office professional to let your hair down party animal depending on how many coats you apply. πŸ™‚
